Cookies and browser storage
Version 2026.10.21. Effective 21 October 2026.
epnote (sole trader), ABN 57 299 672 066, a sole trader in Western Australia, operating epnote. Write to epnote.app@outlook.com.
What changed
- New page: what is stored in your browser, and what is not.
What is stored, and why
- Your sign-in. Once you sign in, your browser keeps the session that proves it, so you are not asked again every time. Clearing it signs you out.
- An invite. If you opened an invite link, a small cookie remembers it, so the app knows you were invited.
- Your documents. Every report you write is stored in your browser's own database on your device, encrypted. This is where your work lives: it is not on our servers.
- Your settings on this device. Your letterhead, signature and preferences, so a report opens ready to write.
- Small reminders. Whether you have dismissed the "Start here" checklist, and which document you had open, so the app opens where you left it.
What is not stored
No analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel, no session recording and no third-party script that could read what you type. We do not profile you, and nothing follows you to another site.
Clearing it
Clearing your browser's data for epnote, or using a private window and closing it, removes all of the above. That includes your documents: they are stored on your device and nowhere else, so clearing the site's data deletes any draft you have not exported. Export or back up first if you want to keep it.
Blocking storage for this site altogether will stop epnote from signing you in or keeping a draft.
